Now Presenting:
I-View an easy way to get around
Some of you may not be aware that there is a quick and easy way to browse
the hundreds of images and backgrounds found on Oxygen volumes. Each
CD-ROM, beginning with Volume 6, contains an image catalog in the Extras
folder. To use this catalog you must first install iView™ Catalog Reader.
PC Users:
Double-click on install_catalog_reader.exe
Mac Users:
Drag iView Catalog Reader to your Applications folder.
After the software is installed, go to your CD-ROM, open the Extras folder,
and find the catalog file - for example, “OXYGEN 10.ivc” Double-click the
file and it should open in iView Catalog Reader.

By default, the catalog will open in Thumbnail view. You should see
something similar to the example above.
There are a few main components to the catalog that you will want to become
familiar with:
- Catalog Sets and File Types
Found on the left side, these options let you narrow your search. For
example, if all you want to see is the original artwork, simply click on the
“ORIGINAL ARTWORK” catalog set and you will only see 25 images. To return to
all the images, click the “ALL IMAGES” catalog set.
- View Tabs
The view tabs allow you to switch between List, Thumbnail, and Media mode.
The thumbnail mode shows multiple images at once. Double-click on a
thumbnail and it will automatically switch to the Media mode where it shows
only the selected image. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move to
another image, or double-click the image to move back to the Thumbnail mode.
- Size Menu
Found on the right side, below the View Tab bar, this pull-down menu allows
you to select the size of your thumbnails while in Thumbnail view, or the
size of the image while in Media view.
Error Message:
If you see an error message telling you that the file is not found, be sure
that the CD-ROM is in the drive. If you are still getting the error message,
check to see what version of the catalog reader you are using. There should
be a message window that appears when you first load the catalog. At the
time of this writing, only version 2.5.1 should be used. Newer versions may
have difficulty finding the files on a CD-ROM. iView is currently working on
correcting that problem.
Shortcut (Mac Users Only):
Hold down option and click an image to open the file.
